A note from the editor
It’s been two months since my last post here.
Did I forget about you?
Not a chance!
Where I’ve been
Last Friday, I left my DevOps/Software Team Lead job at Thomson Reuters to see if I can make it as an indie author.
It’s all kinds of scary and exciting!
I knew back in November that I’d be leaving. Actually – now that the truth can come out – I set up this blog in the knowledge that I was going indie and to support myself in the future. The first post was back in February, but I’d actually spent a couple of months before then building out this blog and the pipeline that builds, tests and deploys it.
My plan had been to continue sharing weekly posts without any break, but I realised a couple of months ago that I was woefully unprepared for my new indie life. I needed to get a personal homepage – with a bio and work examples – built and online as soon as possible.
So, I took a break from this blog to build cariad.me.
Now that it’s done and there aren’t any more emergency projects on my list, I’m back!
What I’m doing
I’ll be working on some non-fiction technology-related books, and some science-fiction/fantasy too. I’ll share another meta post when I’ve got news to share on those.
But, for now, I’m hoping to back to business with this blog. I’ve had some incredibly positive feedback about the content and style, and I’m energised to get back at it!
